Operation Kill Persians: The Charm Offensive

“Nobody said this to me directly but I get the feeling from my talks that if the sanctions don’t work Israel is going to strike Iran,” Obama was quoted as telling Democratic congressmen Tuesday, according to ABC News.

Obama reportedly told Olmert that he is interested in meeting the Iranians in order to issue clear ultimatums. “If after that, they still show no willingness to change their nuclear policy, then any action against them would be legitimate,” an Israeli source quoted him as saying. (Emphasis mine)

 Let me explain why these quotes are important. Back in July of 2002 the Bush Administration had already decided that there would be a War on the people of Iraq and that nothing would stop them from acheiving their goal. Officials knew that what they needed to do was convince, not only the American people but, “The World Community of Nation-States” of the “justice” of their aggresive invasion. And so the Charm Offensive began! For months and months we heard about how we would work with UN Weapons Inspectors and that it was the evil Saddam who was hindering diplomacy.  Former UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter makes the case that the Bush Administration never intended on using diplomacy at all. Instead they used “a smoke-screen of diplomacy” as they manuevered ever so closely to war.

Fast forward to 2008. We hear the Democratic Presidential nominee who is supposed to be the “peace candidate” calling for diplomacy with Iran. At the same time he says that “A nuclear Iran would pose a grave threat and the world must prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon”. Funny how the Democratic nominee won’t even mention the fact that the Iranians are not working on developing a nuclear weapon. You know kind of like how Saddam never had WMD or connections to Al’ Qaida .

We are witnessing the same “Charm Offesive” that took us into Iraq half a decade ago. The decision has already been made that there will be War on the people of Iran. Obama is just playing the game and he’s hoping you’re either not smart enough to figure out what he is doing or that you’re so Hopefully Hopetastically Hopeful that you won’t even care!
